Dedicated to the Ones We Love

I must admit, one of the most difficult things to do is to get your own family on board with doing things the healthy way. They are mostly in agreement with information I present to them regarding the evils of things like high fructose corn syrup, MSG, fluoride, etc., but getting them to drop that stuff is like pulling teeth. Especially if its going to incur an unplanned cost like a reverse osmosis water treatment system or spending the extra money to go organic on the majority of foods we eat.

It is a challenge to convince the ones closest to you that they need to remove these bad elements from their daily lives without resorting to “if you don’t make this change it will kill you!!” tactics…though it be true, in many cases.

If family is important to you as it is with me, you press on educating and demonstrating the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. In all honesty it is difficult to keep myself in line with what I preach. Just remember its not an overnight process. It took a long time for us to get to our unhealthy selves even with the assistance of the mainstream media pushing their cookies, cakes and high-sugar drinks on us. It was sort of a mental programming if you will.  Therefore, it can be expected that it will take some time to change our ideas on what food is and converting to a healthy lifestyle. In the end, we’ll be better off making that change even if it takes one day at a time.
